Design Wall Monday

Okay don't be shocked, I actually have something on my design wall. It's the top for a baby blanket for a friend who is becoming a Grandfather after the first of the year. I figured the baby needs a quilt when it visit's Grandpa. I still need to make the back before can it can be quilted.

Camp Loopy project 1

It seems lately I'm enjoying knitting more than quilting. I have done a bit of sew but not much.  I decided to stretch my knitting skills and go to campy this year. I am pleased with my first project and look forward to starting my next one on July 1. This pattern is called Hitchhiker. The requirements are as follows.

Project One: needs to be knit or crocheted between 6/1 and 6/30 (with a photo of the completed project uploaded to our Project One Photo Gallery by 7/1). The Challenge for Project One – A one-skein project, using a fingering or laceweight yarn that you have not used before. Your project must use at least 375 yards of the skein.

What's On My Needles

It looks like a leprechaun got a hold of my blog and changed it to green in honor of St Patty's Day.  Kinda a nice change if I must say so myself.  I seem to be taking a break from quilting this year. Only turned my machine on twice so far. However,  I have been knitting some. Working on a pair of socks and a sweater,  The picture is of the sweater. The pattern is free on Ravelry called Shalom Cardigan This is actually a picture from the first attempt I tried. I was on row 33 when I found I goofed on my M1's so in trying to tink ( knit backwards) I ripped it all out and starting yet again.  So far so good and happier with the project.  My name of Ravelry is Kamalaleah.

Getting it done in 2013

I've decided to make this the year to finish up UFO's. It doesn't matter if they are quilting, stitching or knitting, they need to be done. So I've made a list of all my different UFO's and plan to tackle them one project at a time. Most people would not think there is a lot of them but to me there are. This is just the list of UFO's. To me, I will not allow myself to start a new quilting project until two on my list is completed it and to me that is the top is completed as at this point I do not quilt my own quilts. Socks will be any on going project as they are good to take to mini group and I have enough sock yarn to make 10 more pair.
